The elements that surround us!

Published by melissanethercott at 12:14 am under lifestyle and love Edit This

I was just hula hooping and I realized how much I miss hooping outside. Especially by water. I love water, I am a Cancer and I feel very close to any body of water. So ideally, right now I would be on the beach, or shore and I would be listening to some of my favorite tunes and hooping it up! I love hula hooping anyway but I was looking at some old pictures and reading a few blogs and they all happened to deal with the element of water AND fire. And hooping of course…

I just recently started back in the “normal” work-force, by the way, it is so not me! I am doing what I need to do now for the short term goal of living expenses and paying off all the FUN I had for the past 7 months! I am used to just grabbing my hoop and spinning anywhere, anytime that I feel the notion. Back to the daily work thing makes that a bit challenging. Now I have to plan my hooping around my work schedule! Among other things… Like writing, I think about many great topics and fun ideas to write about if I was at home or elsewhere, then when it comes time to actually write, I end up forgetting what I was SO inspired about before. See what the normal work force does to you? (or just to me..)

It was so wonderful to be able to get off work and see SUNSHINE! I literally ran outside and ran to the nearest sunniest spot I could find, and then I just stood there. I said thank you to the sun gods under my breath and just basked in the warm rays. it was the most welcoming feeling, coming out of a hard days work and the sun is there to greet you. I love that spring is just around the corner. I bet everyone feels the same, especially here in Oregon. Spring and Summer are my 2 favorite times of year. I can’t figure out which one I love more so will say it is a tie between the 2, I think that is the truth anyway!

I started walking home from work and I really wanted to have my hoop with me. Now I know to bring it no matter what my schedule! I was so close to Waterfront Park and my soul was yearning for me to be inside my sacred circle. In the sunshine, in my hoop, ahhh! I love being in any park, any town USA, near water, surrounded by my circle. I love that sensation more than, well more than a million other things! I feel like a fairy flowing freely or even a butterfly opening her wings and taking flight after a long winter’s nap.

So I guess I would like to write a bit about the elements. Water, what it brings out of me and the effect it has on my emotions is so strong. Does this happen to other’s? I feel a sense of calm and oneness with all that is around me when I am near or in water. Hooping in water is a favorite summertime activity of mine, I need pictures of this! I only have a few, and they always make me smile! As I was just hooping in my living room, I was thinking of me being on a beach, wearing little clothes, and having a swirling, beautiful hoop that I just made going around and around me. This transported me to a new time and place and the visualization I had was wonderful! I am so open to the universe lately that I love feeling these connections I keep making and experiences I keep having. It’s an amazing journey that me and my hoop are on!

Fire is another element that is fascinating to me. I am a water-loving, sun worshipper, that feels heat and falls in love! I am on the cusp of Cancer-Leo, and Lion’s are “fiery”, loud and great creatures. I feel I have the best of both worlds. I can go inside my shell when I need to but watch out! When I am in a safe and fabulous environment I will come out loud and fierce! I love watching people spin fire. I love photographing people who spin fire. I love to spin my hoop on fire! I am definitely not a performer, not a professional, but I love to spin on a full moon. I try to do this every full moon. My energy is really high and this is a great time for me to release out to the universe my fiery feelings! I know a lot of fire dancer’s and spinner’s, so I often get to watch one of my favorite art forms happen. I couldn’t ask for a better group of friends and friends’ of friend’s!! Lucky me in Oregon! I guess here in the Northwest the Winter is SO long and so DARK, that we have to find a way to bring light into our life. This is surely the best way to do it!

Earth…. our Mother…. Where we reside, I love it here! I thank her everyday. I/we are all lucky to be here NOW in such a fascinating time! We have so many opportunities every day to change our environment for the better, some of us do; others don’t answer the call. I know that just by thanking the Earth like I do daily, I FEEL a deeper connection to the Planet and the life that she sustains. I think people may take Her for granted…. I hope others see Her like I do. In this day and age, we could be in paradise one minute and the next all of it could be gone! Just try to remember to be thankful of your life on the glorious Planet. When you say these things, She can hear you. You will be thanked and rewarded!

“Kiss the mountain AIR we breathe…” This is one of my all time favorite lyrics. It’s by Widespread Panic. Yes, I write about them a lot! I miss, miss miss my mountain air! I have lived on and off my life in Jackson Hole,WY. Can you get any cleaner, amazing pure mountain air? Well yes, but I wasn’t living in the Himalayas so…. I still can close my eyes and think about sitting on the shore with a glass of wine in my hand looking out at Jackson Lake, and staring up at the Teton’s and taking a BIG whiff of sweet air! I can almost taste that smell, the way I can taste garlic cooking from a mile away. No pollution, no cars, just Earth, tree’s and pure nature. I miss being a 25 minute car ride to the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. I was so thankful to have that as my backyard for so long! As I am writing this I am planning a Spring trip there to see the mountain flowers come into bloom. That is how Air effects me…. I smell things in the air and I compute them to memory and then I never forget the smells, and emotions that came about during that time! Try it, remember the air you breathe, take it ALL in!

I covered the elements that I feel are important to me I know I could have done wood, metal, etc… but that will come later. I had a “hankerin” to write about these this evening. Now I am off to hoop to SUCH a good song. I love the way Sasha makes me feel!

Enjoy, INjoy, love, bliss, peace!!!
