2009…. the year of the Ox…What does it mean?
I feel compelled to write about this topic because it has come up in conversation a lot since 2009 began. Everyone I know and whom I come into contact with is going through a major life change and can feel a “shift” in the energy around them.
I have had numerous conversations with friends, loved ones and people I just met and everyone has the same type of life shift thing happening to or around them. I know this happens a lot during the beginning of any new Year but this year to seems a bit different. So I really started to pay attention to the story’s my friends were telling me.
I started looking into Chinese Astrology and what it means to be a certain animal sign. This year’s animal sign happens to Ox. An ox is very strong willed, very strong in general, and earnest. They can be quiet when they have to be, they are good listeners, and they are very diligent. Guess who is an Ox? Our new President, Barack Obama! That explains a lot, to me anyway. We are embarking on a new journey, with a capable leader who came to be in the year that happens to be HIS New Year!!
I could feel a change, a “shift” in the way things were getting done. Things are happening at a faster rate. Action. Plain and simple, is what’s going on. No more stagnant energy. No more stagnant relationships. Things that were half done are getting DONE or are getting discarded entirely. And this brings me to the point about my friends and family.
Friends are ending their relationships left and right!Ones that they have been in for many, many year’s. Like I said, things are no longer stagnant. My friends were not completely happy, and their relationships were not fulfilling in the right ways so they are ending them. I think that is amazing, since it is one of the hardest things you can possibly do. Change is scary, and big and makes you go down a road that you have never been down before. There is no map, no one there to guide you, just you, holding your heart and looking ahead. The year of the Ox, or “Ox people” are completely strong, and can overcome hardship. They feel that can cross any bridge that happens to be on their path, and without hesitation, as well. When they feel something deeply they go with it. Reading more and more into this year I am understanding more and more about why my friends are able to do these things, and go through these changes.
It’s interesting to think that 2009 is when we swore into office a new, powerful President, isn’t it? It’s his year! “The Ox is the sign of fortitude and hard work. Such people are dependable, calm and modest. They are tireless in their work, patient, and can endure any hardship without complaint.” When they have their mind set up something, they do not move away from that goal. Thank God/Goddess! We need someone who doesn’t give up or doesn’t just “pass the buck” on to somebody else. I read something that says that Ox people are very eloquent and are great at speaking out loud, not afraid to say what they think is right. They speak their mind! It’s great that they have an authoritative air about them, especially important in being the President of this Country.
I’ve read many times that we are in a crucial year for change and I do believe with all my heart that this is right. Change is going on all around me. Even within me. I feel more powerful and more sure of myself.
I like the energy that I see being swirled around and around. Everything is connected, I have known that for years; but when I see and hear that others are finally seeing that too, it’s empowering and very fulfilling! We are in the midst of great things and positive shifts in our consciousness. Look around, you can see and feel it. I am noticing more and more people that are “waking up”. The masses are feeling the pull of our Mother, our Earth, our connection, and it’s really amazing! Eye’s are opening up, becoming brighter, hearts are too. That I think is the most important.. Our Hearts becoming open. Open to love, to connection, to the positive vibration that we were all born to be able to feel. And NOW is the time for that to start happening.
I am excited to be alive in such an amazing new year! The whole year seems to be pointing only to bigger, better, happier things and brighter futures for us all.
Let’s all remember to allow room for more love, more eye-opening experiences. Create new relationships. Make new traditions. Smile. Try something new. Use your voice. Dream bigger, and brighter. Take action. Just BE, the fascinating creature you were always meant to be, don’t wait anymore!!
In love,
